A FIRST FIRMWARE UPGRADE FOR THE NF-1k!
We have a first firmware upgrade ready for the NF-1k, OS002! Soundwise nothing changed, but quite a few things have been made more easily accessible.
WHAT'S NEW?
- Assigning velocity and aftertouch modulation has been made easier:
- Keep down the SRC button and hit a key on the keyboard softly to select aftertouch as modulation source
- Keep down the SRC button and hit a key on the keyboard loudly to select velocity as modulation source
- With the unison activated keep down the MODE button to access a new little unison menu with unison parameters.
- It was a bit clumsy to adjust the unison detuning and number of voices. You had to keep down the MODE button and then simultaneously turn SELECT or VALUE. That still works, but this second way will often work easier, allowing adjustment with one hand.
- The unison stereo spread has also been added to this little menu.
- The 'Phase Random' parameter has also been added to this little menu, as it is often very important in unison layering.
- With the arpeggiator activated keep down the ARPEGGIO button to access a new little arpeggio menu with the arpeggio parameters.
- Same story for the arpeggio speed and number of octaves. You had to keep down the ARPEGGIO button and then simultaneously turn SELECT and VALUE. Again, this still works, but this second way will often work easier, allowing adjustment with just one hand.
- But what's more, there is also a new arpeggio parameter!
- A new 'Speed Random' parameter has been added to the arpeggio. Unsynced arpeggios can be made to run a bit (to very much) randomised, instead of just in a steady pace. Very useful when you are using the arpeggiator to create some layered 'movement' instead of just a steady rhythmical thing.
And further, we corrected a few inconsistencies. For example, when using aftertouch on an arpeggio, or when using chord mode, the aftertouch didn't work as you'd expect it. Has been fixed!
We wish you a lot of inspiration! 😉
